First off, the usual apologies for not updating... Due to falling madly in love, I haven't been sewing much over the past year, don't exactly regret it though.
Anyway, Scott's been sick this week so I've had time for sewing. I've made three pieces.
First off is a skirt. I got this fabric in the Castro district in San Francisco (in May '09). We're having a cold winter, so I was in the mood for sewing something sunny.
Next is a jumper. I rarely branch outside of skirts, and I've never worked with knit fabric before. I thought it might be a good travel outfit - super comfy, no wrinkles, can dress it up or down, can add layers to make it warmer or colder.
Lastly, today I sewed up another skirt. I've been making most of my skirts knee-length over the past year or so, but I went back to just below the knee on this one. The fabric was an impulse buy - 55% off at JoAnns. The trim cost more than the fabric, but that's not too unusual. And adding the trim took longer than the rest of the project put together, but I suppose that's not unusual either. I've recently discovered there's super-fun square dancing to be had in my neighborhood, so maybe this will work for that!
I have sewn a few other things in the past year that aren't up in the blog yet, maybe I'll get around to posting them, hopefully...
