Sweater recon

I was a bit nervous today as I had a 3pm appointment to find out the results of my neuropsychiatric testing (spoiler alert- I passed!). Can't wait to put this stroke behind me. Celebrated by going to thrift shop and getting this sweater. Now I have an outfit that's far too risqué for anything I actually do.

Sewed up the sides and sewed an encasement for elastic waistband. Then haphazardly sewed indentations along the vertical seam just to make it more interesting (and shorter, maybe too short).

Then used the sleeves as leg warmers (wrist band on the top holding them up). Had a bit of extra from the sleeves and below the collar to cobble together for a neck warmer. Used almost every scrap of material!

A wonderful gift!

I truly have the most wonderful coworkers. They are funny, smart, creative, and so supportive. For years talking and laughing with them has been the best stress relief. And now post-stroke that continues.

As part of their amazing support, they gave me a gift certificate to my favorite fabric shop! (Treadle Yard Goods). This fabric is part of what I've gotten from their generous gift.

This fabric asked to be a comfy casual skirt and top. I've made this kind of top before, but I made up the skirt as I went along. I love it! Gonna make more! Also, I used the whole buffalo (every bit of the 1.5 yards I bought). I'm going to trim up the top a bit, make it a bit more fitting.

Woo Hoo!

That's enough photos  :)

So grateful and so lucky
