Finally updating this again

Hello!

I made three skirts this week (I'm off work), so I figured it was time to finally update this blog. I'm posting the three new ones first, then some that I've made from before...

I LOVE this fabric - the birds show up nicely, and it's cool how the deer are sorta hidden. I like the colors too. Could pull it off as a Christmas skirt.

I finally got the nerve to try putting pockets into a skirt (other than patch-pockets). Next time I'll put them higher, but I'm very happy with it. It's Amy Butler fabric.

Good ol' IKEA has everything, including fabrics. Bias tape is so great, none of the time-consuming hemming.
The fabric for the dress is SO comfy. But pretty light, so 2 layers helps.

This is another really light fabric, it hangs very nicely. But I need to extend the inner lining since it's a bit see-through (I'll get around to it, sometime)

I made this dress for my graduation. A bit Grecian and silly, but by graduation my classmates were used to my weird outfits. It's relatively easy to make because you don't need a zipper (use ribbons to fit it instead).

The circles on this skirt were all on one fabric (printed as circles on a brown background). So it was easy to cut them out, then I just stitched them straight to the skirt. I like the frayed edges, which is good because it would have been a lot more work to turn the edges under. The patch pockets work great for the iPod.

This is one of the first dresses I made properly (with a pattern, pins, ironing). The shoulders didn't turn out well, but the cardigan solves that. Amy Butler fabric.
